It's this incredible group of musicians who are not only talented, but are all there with this emotional connection, because we're bonded by, yes, not only music, but our desire to fight against oppression... ♪ Voice-over: Saying that Ukrainian culture is alive, it's strong, you can't kill it, you won't silence it, and it's only going to become more strong.
♪ [Music ends] Voice-over: And that's what Beethoven's Ninth Symphony does.
It represents all struggles of life, and it represents all the pureness in life, the innocence, the beauty.
That's why I love Beethoven.
♪ Voice-over: And the idea to sing the "Ode to Joy" in the Ukrainian language adds that extra strength.
You have the melody, you have the power of the orchestra, but when you have the words sung in the language of this country that is suffering so much, it's all the more powerful.
