(upbeat music) - The Dutch Club of Utah is celebrating the 2025 Dutch Kings Day Fest at Millcreek Common.
Katie Reed is here to tell us more.
Hi Katie.
Thanks for being here.
Okay, so first tell us what Dutch Kings Day is and the significance of orange.
- Kings Day or (speaks in foreign language) is the world's largest street party in the Netherlands.
It's kind of a mixture between the 4th of July and St. Patrick's Day.
Everybody wears orange because it's the King's, the royal family's color.
- Okay, and you're wearing it.
- Yes.
- Perfect for it.
- Very important.
- Okay, so this will be the second year.
You're also doing something for the kids.
- Yes, we're doing a kinder flea market.
Everybody is invited to sign up and bring a blanket.
The kids are signing and they can put their toys out to sell, a craft.
They can play an instrument, put a hat out, and get tips or even host a carnival game.
It's just a lot of fun.
- And I bet they've come up with some pretty interesting things in the past.
Kids are creative.
- I know, it just adds a little extra flair.
- Exactly, and then of course, the food.
What food do you have?
- Well, the Old Dutch Store will be there with some good Dutch-Indonesian treats.
Dutch-Indonesian food is to the Netherlands, like Indian food is to the Brits.
They love that.
And then also Bruges will be there with their waffles and their frites, and we have stroke waffles and some other goodies, especially a nice cold beer to wash it all down with.
- All right.
And then you're doing a bike parade as well.
- Yes, we just, you can bring your bikes, decorate it orange, of course, and we'll have the decorations or you can decorate it yourself.
And then there'll be prizes right around the skate loop and prizes for best decorated, things like that.
- Oh, great, and I know you've got games as well, so you've got everything planned for the day.
And thank you so much for being here.
- Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming Dutch Club of Utah, Salt Lake City Dutch Kings Day Fest, it's April 26th from 11 to 5 at Millcreek Common.
