And here to tell us about this year's Spring City Heritage Day is Randall Thatcher.
Randall, you're back.
It's such a treat to have you.
- Always my tremendous pleasure.
It's good to be here.
- Wonderful to have you and you know how I love this event.
- Well, you know how we love you at this event, and thanks for coming.
I will just say this, according to the National Historic Society, and they must know what they're talking about.
They say that the best preserved example of a 19th century Pioneer Village is in the whole country is drum roll please... Is Spring City, Utah.
So that's a special thing.
- It is.
That's very special.
That's amazing.
And, I mean, it's an incredible historic city.
- It is incredible.
So much preservation there.
There's a real spirit of restoration and preservation.
And once a year we like just to throw the welcome mat out and open up a bunch of homes and buildings and let people come see what it was like back in 1860.
- Yeah, so what homes are on this year?
- Well, a bunch of great ones.
Some you have not seen before are on the tour this year.
15 homes, private homes that are open to the public and 15 public buildings, including the old school.
The old Rock Church on Main Street where there'll be music.
The old Vaudeville theater on Main Street where there'll be bluegrass at four o'clock, yours truly on the banjo.
- [Mary] And you're wonderful.
- Thank you.
The art auction is happening, of course.
Local artists will be painting original pieces and they'll be auctioned off and food and fun and if you're into antiques or anything from that pioneer era, this is your event.
- This is it.
Anyway, wonderful.
I'm so glad you came on to talk about it.
And thank you so much for being here, thanks.
- My pleasure as always.
