GIRL: "Full Time Kid," with Mya.
[laughs] Hi, I'm Mya.
One thing I love about the holidays are all the Christmas lights.
Now, did you know that you can actually paint with light?
I'm going to show you how you can create your own light painting.
You'll need a DSLR camera, a tripod, different small lights, and a dark location.
MYA (VOICEOVER): Put your DSLR on a tripod, and set it to shutter priority, also labeled as TV.
Depending on how dark it is, you may need to experiment with the duration of your shutter.
This will also determine how long you'll have to paint with your light.
I like to use a shutter between 5 and 20 seconds.
Have an adult press the shutter button when you are ready.
When you hear the shutter open-- [click] ---it's go time.
Use the light like your brush and paint the dark any way you like.
Now, check out your light painting.
Pretty cool, right?
Experiment with different types of lights.
I found these in my house.
You can also experiment by turning your lights on and off or using multiple lights or different colored lights.
Use your imagination, and have fun with it.
Check out my Christmas tree and my snowman.
Here's a candy cane.
MM!
And this is my name.
[music playing] Thanks for learning how to paint with light on "Full Time Kid."
Happy, happy holidays.
You'll need a DCLR camera-- (SINGING) D-S-L-R. DSLR.
A DSR cam-- ADULT: Slow down.
Go ahead, say it slowly.
[laughs] See you on take two.
