(upbeat music) - KRCL is hosting a free, family-friendly outdoor celebration of community, music, food, and local art on Saturday, August 23rd at the International Peace Gardens.
Joining us are KRCL hosts Ebay Hamilton and Lara Jones.
Hi, both, welcome.
It's a pleasure to have you here with your big event coming up.
- Excited to be here.
- So, Ebay, let's start with you.
Kind of give us an overview of what it is.
- So, yeah, KRCL's hosting Day in the Park at the International Peace Gardens located in Jordan Park on August 23rd, this Saturday, from noon until 6:00 p.m.
It's a free event.
We used to do Day in the Park every year for many, many, many years.
And then in the early 2000's, took a break, and we brought it back last year for the station's 45th anniversary.
And we had a lot of fun at the Peace Gardens doing the event last year.
We thought, "Let's do it again."
So we're back.
And it's bigger this year, and it's gonna be a lot of fun, yeah.
- Yeah, it sounds wonderful.
I love those Peace Gardens.
And Lara, okay, tell us why this is so important and why KRCL is so important in this community.
- Well, KRCL is Listeners Community Radio of Utah.
Our listeners own KRCL.
And we just wanna say thank you and get together and have a good time.
There'll be some nonprofits there tabling.
There'll be lots of kid-friendly activities, including a clown tying balloons.
And the music lineup, Ebay, is fantastic.
- Yeah, we have live music happening from noon until 6:00 p.m. Pepper Rose & The Thorns going on at noon.
Then a marching band playing on the stage.
Lavender Menaces will be following Pepper Rose.
We have Marv Hamilton and Dream Back The Buffalo.
We have Ogden musician Sammy Brue performing, Lee Rafugee performing, and then a great Utah band, Sister Wives, wrapping things up.
It's gonna be just a great day of music and community.
- Yeah, and food and everything else.
And thank you so much for what you do do in this community and thanks for being here.
- Yeah.
- And if you'd like to know more about KRCL's Day in the Park, it's August 23rd from noon to 6:00 at the International Peace Gardens in Jordan Park in Salt Lake City.
Lots going on, so get there early.
It's at krcl.org.
