(bright music) - The Ogden Music Festival brings together friends and fans of acoustic music from Ogden and beyond, and it's the perfect way to start your summer.
Executive Director Michelle Tanner is here to talk about this signature event.
Hi, Michelle.
This is like- - Hi, Mary.
- A big deal in Ogden, I know.
I mean, three days of almost nonstop music.
- That's right, we really celebrate the music and Ogden in a way that only Ogden can do.
We bring diversity in our lineup.
We have some fabulous artists that are coming for our three-day outdoor festival.
It's at beautiful Fort Buenaventura in the middle of some beautiful cottonwood trees and by the trains and the Weber River.
We're excited to present Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives and also another headliner, Cimafunk from Cuba, and he'll be bringing a youth band Primera Linea as well from Cuba.
We have John Craigie and Pokey LaFarge, Sister Sadie, and East Nash Grass bring us some great bluegrass, and Margo Cilker, the Fretless featuring Madeleine Roger, New Dangerfield, brand new supergroup of African American banjo artists and string artists.
We're really excited.
And we also have local Hot House West Swing Orchestra, Mariachi Fuego, and Theoretical Blonde joining us.
- Wow, you have some lineup.
That's a lot, that's incredible.
So three days of amazing music and I know you do this cute thing, the instrument petting zoo.
- Yes, that's part of our mission to get instruments in the hands of kids, and it's, we have volunteer musicians who help them hold and maybe learn a chord, and hold an instrument, and feel comfortable.
And some kids will spend the whole weekend there.
We have other kids' activities and kids 16 and under are free.
We have camping on site.
It's a very friendly, family-friendly event, and we have volunteer opportunities.
So come and join us in the beautiful trees of Fort Buenaventura.
- Wonderful, well, thank you so much for being here.
Thanks for doing it.
- Thank you, Mary.
- And if you'd like to know more about that big Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music music festival, May 30th to June 1st at Fort Buenaventura, go to ofoam.org.
(bright music) I'm Mary Dickson.
