(upbeat music) - SummerFest is a free, family-friendly cultural arts festival at Bountiful City Park.
It celebrates global traditions through art, music, and community, and here to tell us more is Phoebe Davenport from Bountiful Davis Art Center.
Hi, Phoebe, welcome.
This is always a great arts festival, I have to tell you, so I'm glad you do it, so talk about some of the cultural traditions we're gonna see at this year's Fest.
Yeah, this year, we're super excited to have a lot more interactive options, so if you've ever wanted to try to play a Wasatch Alphorn, we're gonna have that.
We're gonna have some cyanotype workshops and just some really fun art-making so you can get more involved in the cultures.
- Ah, it's a great idea, and I know you've got different performers coming.
Who are some of the performers?
- We have the Wasatch Alphorns.
They will also be performing.
We have Love Juliet, she's a pop Americana girl.
We have Utah Flamingo, Gypsy Fire, just a bunch of different varieties of performers this year.
- So when they just go on throughout the day, so whenever you show up, you'll hear something or see something.
- Yep, all day we'll have music and art.
- All right, and talk about, what else?
I know you've got some art yard with different things in it.
What's going on at the art yard?
- So at the art yard, we'll be doing cyanotype.
We'll also have a collaborative mural that people can paint on.
There also will be food trucks there, and we'll have some artisan vendors selling their traditional crafts, so all around, it'll just be a great time.
- It's everything, and I know this year, you've got some paid workshops?
- We do, we're having them at our Bountiful Davis Art Center location, so we have traditional pinatas, we have some ceramics, lust a lot of fun things so you can dive even deeper into those cultures.
- And a lot of things that kids are gonna love.
- Definitely.
and that you can do with your kids.
Yeah.
- Yeah.
So how long have you been doing this?
- This is my first year for SummerFest, so I'm super excited.
We're trying some new things this year, so I really hope that everybody will come out and just experience the party with me.
- Wonderful, wonderful.
Thank you so much for being here, thanks.
