(upbeat music) - Utah's online library offers a free collection of research databases and learning tools for K-12 students, teachers, and curious minds.
And here to tell us more is Braxton Thornley, who's the Senior Technology Trainer at the Utah Education Network.
Hi, Braxton.
This is a great new service you're providing.
So why don't you tell us everything you've got?
- Yeah, absolutely.
So Utah's Online School Library is really just a collection of resources that are available to, like you said, students, but also teachers or really anyone who's interested in learning.
And with it being summer and kids out of school right now, it's a great chance for kids to kinda like poke around and explore things that they're may be interested in.
- Yeah, and I'm sure you've got just about everything on there.
It's very accessible I'm thinking.
And tell us, like, what you think audience needs to know.
What kind of databases do you have in there?
What kind of resources?
- Absolutely.
Yeah.
So there's resources really for, like, elementary age kids, middle school kids, high school kids, even adults.
And in the online library, you're going to find a variety of things.
You're going to find research databases, like you mentioned.
You're also going to find encyclopedias.
You'll find educational videos.
There's even some educational games in there.
There are old archives from like the Salt Lake Tribune photo archives.
There's even like National Geographic for kids that's available on there as well.
So really, there's a whole bunch of stuff, and it's a great place to explore.
- Boy, no kidding.
I mean, kids can find everything they need for reports, as you said, just to learn more, and, like, curious minds like mine, I'm going on that thing right away.
- Absolutely, and it's more than just, like, text or encyclopedias as well.
And those are definitely inside of the databases and inside of the online library.
But like I mentioned before, there's even like multimodal models where you can look at different cells or different plants.
There's different activities for kids to, like, experiment and play games too.
So there's a lot there.
- Great.
Well, thank you so much for being here to tell us about it.
Thanks.
- You're welcome.
Thanks for having me.
- And if you'd like to know more about that incredible new resource from the Utah Education Network, it's Utah's Online School Library, Summer Learning.
